Summer
Garden Maintenance – Making the Best of Your Garden
Summer is a
delightful time. Warmer temperatures mean we can peel away the layers of
winter, throw open the windows and welcome warm sunshine into the home.
It’s also a
chance to enjoy the garden too. Longer days also mean that tidying the
gardening, pruning and weeding, as well as the weekly mow of the lawn, can
happen with relative ease.
But, winter has
left its mark. In fact, several winters have left their mark and as such, your
garden, both the green lush borders and the hard-landscaped parts can look less
than appealing.
The time has
come to discover the effects of power washing.
What
is power washing?
A garden hose is
connected to a power washer, a piece of kit with a motor that ‘injects’ air
into the water as well as pressure. This gives it incredible force and as such
amazing cleaning powers perfect for everything from cleaning garden paths to
washing the car.
What
are the advantages?
·
Great results and quickly too – the
drudgery of washing the car, scrubbing the deck and trying to clean the
concrete driveway can take a long time, hours in some cases. Frankly, we all
have better things to do with our time thus, some of these ‘jobs’ didn’t get
done. With a power washing, these essential garden maintenance jobs can be done
in minutes, not hours.
·
No soap needed! – to lift stubborn
stains and the like, the substance needs’ breaking’ usually with a soap-like
substance. However, because there is a force behind the water, it breaks the
surface of the stain, effectively removing it.
·
Environmentally friendly – no soap means
nothing to impact on the environment and because the water is aerated, it uses
less water too to get great results.
·
Helps hard landscaping last longer –
there are some substances that can affect the strength and integrity of some
materials. Although a concrete driveway is tough and durable, it can crack or
weaken. By keeping it clean, lifting stains and spills it not only looks better
but in all probability, will last longer too.
Which
areas of the garden benefit from power cleaning?
Power
washing works on a variety of structures and materials. Because we are
expert at power washing, we can use different settings and power range so that
the material is not damaged.
For example, wooden
decking structures need less force but you still want inground dirt and moss to
be removed. With other materials such as stone flags, pavement flags and
concrete, you can afford to have a stronger power wash but, too abrasive or
concentrate in one spot for too long, and the top protective layer can be
removed.
